Bank

This is a derelict bank in Old Basford, Nottingham.

Shot on my mobile phone on my lunch time walk..

If you look carefully you can see "Midland Bank" markings on the building sign.

Rather strangely, the buildings connected to this corner plot make up an Ice Cream Factory. The shutters behind the building give access to a family home and an ice cream factory

A sign of the times & sad to see these neighbourhood banks go by the wall.....ice cream must be more profitable!

Looks a bit grim even for an icecream factory!

This is such a terrific shot. It looks about 50 years old.

Spooky sort of shot...The old bank doesn't immediately sing of making 'Lolly' ...more 'I Scream'

@happypat thanks Pat :) , yes ice cream is a much better industry than banking !

@caddick - nice puns mike

@swilde - thanks sue, Old Basford is an interesting area to walk around...I'm stood next to a 'taxi metering company' and a 'pole dancing school' while taking this pic !!

@maggiemae - maggie , it's not quite that grim...honest !!!

It looks a bit like my Dad's old corner shop in south Shields.

Isn't it interesting how some derelict buildings have a charm and atmosphere that really make a great picture, while others just look very sad. I think this is one of the sad ones.
