Not quite Mary Poppins...esque because there is no St. Paul's Cathedral, but it does have that feel and the contre jour light gives it an air of mystery.
I don't know if the post processing is OTT as I've gone for deep blacks and the lady is in total silhouette (but there wasn't much detail in the lady anyway)...GIMP / G'MIC post processing (pretty normal for me at the moment).
A shot from last winter....but it could have been today as the light was identical.
Rufford Country Park in North Nottinghamshire is the location.
I like your processing. It reminds of the pigeon lady near here though - she feeds them so there's a massive flock which lives across the road (not on her roof!)
You are a song bird too today Phil.....how these words & tunes stick in your head! I think this makes a lovely b/w composition, very definite lines between the subjects. The paving shows up well in the foreground & the whole thing has a sort of bloom.
oh love it, and you are right, it really has that feel. i love the images of a bird lady this conjures up in my mind...recall the pigeon lady in the movie Home Alone....one of my boys favorites when they were little!
