I did one of these last month, two pictures taken at the same location, many years apart.
It was quite popular, so I've done another one.
Both pictures are of Jane, walking over the bridge on the River Wye in the Monsal Dale valley of the Derbyshire Peak District
The top picture was taken on 27 March 2004 at 12.27 hours
The bottom picture was taken on 13 April 2013 at 11.49 hours
Not a lot has changed by the look of it ! Maybe a bit of repair work to the wall on the right hand side of the frame.
Jane has a different back pack, although the one she is wearing in 2004 is still in use today (I use it for holidays as hand luggage and also take it when we go walking ). Jane has baggy track suit bottoms on it 2004, whereas she has leggings on in 2013. She is wearing the same walking boots, albeit they are now very well worn !
I didn't intentionally attempt to reproduce the shot from 2004...it's just whenever we go on this walk (one of our fave Peak District walks), I always take a picture of Jane walking over the bridge.
Compositionally, I probably think the top image is better. I used a longer zoom on the to shot giving it a compressed feel.
As I said in my October "two picture 10 year apart shot".....Jane and I are creatures of habit, but hey a walk in Monsal Dale is always a lovely way to spend a couple of hours
FYI : The walk starts in Ashford in the Water, we climb up the hills / across fields (a tough climb) to Monsal Head (stunning views), we drop in the Dale, follow the river wye, cross the A6, walk into Deepdale and then climb some more hills, follow the river again back to Ashford in the Water
Great double shot Phil, beautifully done and so interesting. A super idea to take these shots from time to time. and reassuring that nothing has changed - not even Jane who looks as young and sprightly as ever!
The description of your route sounds wonderful. I love the fact that you two are such constant walking companions. I'm sure that doubles your pleasure (even without doubling the photos!)
@willowdragon thanks Al, I do tend to write quite long narratives :)
