It looks like an uphill struggle for the jogger running up the hill in the Hobbucks area of Arnold.
We had some winter sun this afternoon, so it was a good afternoon for walking Ruby.
Jane threw one of Ruby's toys for her to chase, but unfortunately she chased into a lot of Nettles. When you are a skinny whippet with thin fur they sting. Cue Ruby itching and biting herself all afternoon and Jane feeling very guilty for her throw !
Post processed in GIMP / G'MIC with a Kodak Kodachrome 25 film filter.
I can feel her pain ( the runner!) and also sympathise with Ruby, whippets hate nettles and seem to recognise their distinctive smell so know to avoid them normally! Bertie was strangely still and well-behaved when I took the chestnut shot and then I realised the ground was covered by the prickly husks and he just hated walking on them! Poor Bertie.
Nettles in January...must be warm where you live! They would be young ones which are the very devil for stinging badly too.
My idea of torment running up a hill like this but gives a good photo.
