Tiled Lichen

We lost a roof ridge tile in the recent storms. In the grand scheme of the floods and storm damage that have hit the country it is an insignificant issue.

Anyway, I couldn't help but notice the lichen growing on the roof tile and thought it was worthy of a quick macro shot with my panny TZ7.

My husband doesn't like lichen on roofs! We had our tiles cleaned. Makes a good photo though with the texture and colour!

The color is a nice contrast with your recent B&W. Just be glad it is not black mold. A friend has that in her home caused by a leaking pipe and it will require major cleaning and repair.

So tenacious aren't they! I noticed some lovely ones growing on top of a local dog poo bin only a few days back which amused me. I never thought to snap em tho perhaps cos I was being dragged along by 4 whippets, they try and pull me to a house close by where a pal lived - she moved but they still try and visit her!
