It was a nice sunny (yet cold) morning today and we went into Nottingham shopping. I like looking in the John Lewis 'geek department' (tv's, audio, camera's, tablets, computers, radios etc.). As you come out of John Lewis and walk through Boots you come to Poundland, quite a contrast.
It's quite a bleak scene, lots of grain on the shot, the concrete and dirty façade of the Victoria Centre, the Zebra crossing with faded markings, a cold and damp Saturday afternoon, with happy shoppers.
A scene that could probably be shot in any town / city centre of the land
Nicely observed Phil, I gather Poundland is doing really well these days and I think it's been floated on the stock exchange! I love JL too, specially the perfume and makeup area!!
I'm enjoying John Lewis's catalogue - no rain involved! Poundland doing very well although apparently it's a 'thing' for teenagers to ask the staff what everything costs....
JL is the best but the nearest to us is Manchester. Poundland does fantastically well in Blackpool as you can imagine!! I like your street shots! TKMax is good too!
