50 mono portraits at 50mm : No. 14 : Programmes !!

I'm up to no. 14 in my series of mono portraits

Today I went to watch my football team, Bolton Wanderers huff and puff themselves to a goalless draw against Sheffield Wednesday at the Macron Stadium, Bolton

This is one of the "matchday programme" sellers outside the stadium. I used to buy a programme off him every match day. I've got hundreds of programmes in my loft, wardrobes etc, collecting dust !

Last season I decided to stop buying them. All the information inside the matchday programmes is available online and on social media networks...Oh and Bolton Wanderers send an electronic version to me via email in pdf format.

I asked the programme seller if he would pose for me with a matchday programme aloft . He seemed really pleased to do so.

You can hear his voice as you approach the stadium, shouting "Programmes" !

Catch up with comments tomorrow, far to late now

He looks optimistic although I imagine his business is down in general with the availability of information online.

A dying trade by the sound of it. You'll have to take him a copy of this - it's another great portrait.

I love how you've captured the contours of his face. Peter went to see St Neots town play Dereham town yesterday in the first qualifying round of the FA cup.

Great shot...he looks as if he has been around for awhile...a lot of character in that face. Maybe all those programs will be worth something some day? You never know!!
