50 mono portraits at 50mm : No. 47 : Carnival Smile

It was the Nottingham Carnival this weekend.

Formerly known as the Nottingham Caribbean Carnival it has changed it's name this year and location too. The carnival used to parade through the heart of the city but now it parades on the Embankment by the side of the River Trent

This gentleman was a vendor at the site ans when I asked him for a photo he was a little reluctant. I explained I was an amateur photographer, so at that point he let me take a couple of shots.

I am pleased with this shot and hid big smile

As is usual with my shots, it was post processed in Rawtherapee with an Ilford XP2 film emulation

Another characterful portrait. I'm smiling too. (I guess rawtherapee is just for shots in raw?)

Nailed it again, Phil ; you've got him to look relaxed and happy - quite an achievement with a reluctant subject .
