Ice Cream For Everyone

I've wanted an Ice Cream Van on my 365 for ages.

I think this is my first one (and I've been here since January 2011)

This is at Gedling Country Park, which is on the disused Gedling Coal Mine Site.

I've faffed around in GIMP with filters, colours, tones and contrast, to try and create a retro feel.

£1-20 for a decent sized 99 (that's a cornet with a flake for those of you not familiar with the term). Very nice it was too after the up and down walk around the park. Ruby enjoyed a little bit too (no flake obviously !!)

Cool, great idea. We have an ice cream truck that goes thru our neighborhood during the summer. Haven't heard the music of it since school started.

Cheap ice cream Phil....I love a 99. You have given this icecream van the prominence it deserves. Just love the way it dominates the whole picture, everybody & everything else is just small detail!

@happypat thanks Pat, yes £1-20 was quite reasonable , it is on a council owned park , so I don't know if they have influence on the prices. A decent scoop size too (well not literally a scoop and it was whippy !!!)

@phil_howcroft Harry loves whippy......they don't sell whippy at many places these days. There was non at the gpagriculture shows.....good Yorkshire icecream but round dollops...I like my icecream soft!

Very popular here, too. There are many ice-cream vans and parlour all over the Island. I have an ice cream everyday before going to bed (even though I know it's not good for the health). Beautiful capture of the country park.

Beautiful picture. Here they also have bicycle ice cream "vans" here. Bicycle with ice box in front. Will have a look out for one, Not seen often.
