Friendly Monk Parakeet by phil_howcroft

Friendly Monk Parakeet

At the boardwalk that led to the beach in Playa De Jandia there were wild Parakeets that lived in some palm trees.

When I say wild, they were actually very friendly and would swoop to take nuts out of your hand .

This is one on the friendly Parakeets. A Monk Parakeet according to Google

Also known as Quaker parakeets, these are sweet but illegal in California, on the crop pests, to be destroyed list. Love them though.

Phil, you caught a nice one here. The detail in the shadows is nice and the focus is perfectly spot on. Fav.

Fav: exquisite detail & colour and I like the way the shadow carries the line of his back round and somehow seems to embrace him - beautiful!

This looks like a Quacker parrot my son-in-law has. I suppose people in different areas use different names for the same bird. Have to fav. this shot for its beauty and the great focus and detail.
