Dragonboat Racing

The Riverside Festival on the banks of the Trent included a charity Dragonboat event.

My daughter Claire and her fiancé Matt took place in the event, Their next door neighbour asked them if they would fill a couple of places for the team she was managing.

Claire is the one sat on the front of the boat, beating the drum to keep the rowers in sync. Matt is in the second row, far side.

Shot with a sigma 70-300mm zoom on my Canon 60D. Hand held on a high ISO.

That looks delightful and energetic. I bet they had a great time with lots of laughter.

Beautiful shot. Did they win the race? Must have been tons of fun both for those taking part and for those who went to watch.

I'll have Clair's job thanks, that looks like hard work. Nicely captured action shot.

Nicely caught...I like how the rear of the boat extends past the frame.

I think I would prefer Claire's role! Thanks for the info regarding settings etc. Sorry for being absent from commenting on some of your shots, Phil. To be truthful, I am getting a bit absorbed with Flickr right now.
