Urban Basford by phil_howcroft

Urban Basford

It's half term at school, so I can take my camera to work.

This iconic building is part of my daily walkl.

I think it has appeared on my photostream before viewed from the side rather than upright like this.

It's a former Midland Bank (HSBC) building , but is now part of the Frederic Bros ice cream factory.

Looks cool doesn't it :)

Shot with a 28mm prime lens which seems to have avoided any converging verticals
Wonderful capture. Love the worn brick against the brilliant blue sky and the drizzle of clouds like smoke hanging about the roof.

Two up and one down! Very thin building - would have steep stairs!

Interesting shape. Not in good shape, though. Nice light

looks old and sad… I'll bet it was great at one time

Interesting building

Sticking out like a sore thumb comes to mind - but an interesting "old" building

I does look cool, and should feel cold with all the ice-creams inside.

This is such a narrow building, talk about one up one down! It looks amazing & quite derelict to my eyes, I can't imagine much ice cream coming out of there!

The terracotta brick/blue sky contrast is good!

Lots to see and enjoy here. I love the effect of faded paint on plywood boarding, the grain patterns are so cool! Quite abstract, in fact. :-D

@quietpurplehaze thanks Haze, my vintage lens working well

@dulciknit thanks for spotting the grain Alison, I really emphasised the tones in my post processing in order to get texture in the bricks and wood.
