Arnold (where I live) in Nottingham had it's annual Christmas market this weekend,.
The main shopping street was lined with market stalls, food stalls and a couple of fairground rides.
I thought the occasion might be a good opportunity to photograph some strangers. I went down in the morning before it got too busy.
My wife spotted Lynne-Marie and said she knew she would be up for a stranger pic, I thought her glasses and dark hair would make a striking portrait,
So I went over to Lynne-Marie and introduced myself and explained the concept of the 100 strangers project..
Lynne-Marie agreed straight away to be photographed. All the stalls on the market were individual little marquee style tents which were all a little dark inside. I therefore asked Lynne-Marie to move just outside the tent to get some nice light and catchlights.
Lynne-Marie sells handcrafted bespoke jewellery , specialising in sterling silver and jem jewellery. She only started doing markets about seven weeks ago. I asked her how business was and she said she'd had a good day yesterday (Friday) when the market opened.
I showed Lynne-Marie the images on the back of the camera and she thought they looked good. We exchanged business cards , shook hands and I told Lynne-Marie to email me if she wanted copies of the images.
I decided to convert the image to monochrome as there wasn't that much colour in the image. Lynne-Marie was wearing a white jumper and the tent canvas was grey. There's a bit of a marquee bar just over Lynne-Marie's head. I tried to clone it out , but when I clone things out I tend to see the cloning and hesitate to do it .
