A Grand Doorway For A Whippet

This is Ruby our whippet making a grand exit from our front door .....not really our front door, this is the door to Gedling Borough Councils, "council house".

We were walking in the "duck park" at the weekend. I'd eyed this entrance before as a possible photo shoot location.

As i had no model to shoot, I chose my beautiful dog Ruby to stand in the doorway. My wife is hidden behind the pillar.

I was going to do this in colour, but at the last minute switched to mono, as Ruby's harness / lead is in bright yellow Dogs Trust colours , which sort of upset the colour balance of the photo

Edited in Rawtherapee and GIMP.

Turned out OK.
Boo
hahaha I did wonder what puppy was looking at!

Your wife must be only pillar width - can't see a thing! Actually I do know where she is - Ruby is eyeing her with puzzlement! Is this a hide and seek game!
Lovely old stone entrance to the building with the curved door and window!

Feels like it ought to be with a well dressed gentleman and a black labrador somehow! Great fun

Great shot and idea. The dog gives your wife up the loving way it is looking sideways. Ruby is always a great subject to capture. Love the grand entrance.
