Urban : Nutall Road, Nottingham

Part of my occasional URBAN series.

This is Nutall Road, Nottingham , near to where I work and shot on my lunchtime walk a few weeks ago

Nutall Road is on a direct route into Nottingham from the M1 Junction 26 . The city centre is about a mile and a half to the left and the M1 probably 2 miles to the right.

There a a few shops on this stretch of the road. I don't think Diane has styled much hair in recent times, nor has she done any nails too.

The betting shop always has a steady stream of gamblers visiting

it gives a feeling of loneliness...

I was going to ask if that is where you go for your haircut. Lovely streetie. Sometimes I feel sorry for smokers who have to pop out every now and then to smoke a cigarette when the weather is cold or wet.

Makes me want to get my paintbrush out and sort out that fading scuffed and dirty paintwork. I get the urge to turn up with a bucket and scrubbing brush when I walk past bus shelters sometimes too! I think I am probably a bit odd.......LOL!! Diane's looks desolate.

Good in mono, Phil. We had that betting shop in the village. They did so well they had to move to larger premises. still in the village. The grocer's next door but one closed down due to competition from Tesco Express. (Ray is doing well now, thanks.)

A good representative shot of what is happening in a lot of town centres. Betting shops opening, pound shops spreading, and the rest shutting down. Good shot Phil.

A very typical urban street shot Phil.....we can all relate to this row of shops & businesses. More & more becoming emoty too...it’s a sad state of affairs!
