Justice and Equity

Two statues on Nottingham Guildhall

Justice and Equity (note the J and E underneath the statues).

The beautiful building is the former Nottingham Guildhall. The guildhall opened in 1888 and was designed in the , the French Renaissance Revival style. The building hosted Nottingham City Magistrates and Crown Courts and also was the home to Nottingham City Council.

Both the Courts and Nottingham City Council now reside in modern purpose built offices and the Guildhall is empty

I straightened some converging verticals to ensure the statued were erect

Looks quite cool in mono

I love all the tones of grey, black and white. The balance in the composition is very pleasing.

Thanks for pointing out the J & E. I love details like that but wouldn't have noticed without you.

Wonderful capture and your b&w's are always wonderful. I hope there is still a purpose for keeping this wonderful building alive.
