Manchester Juxtaposition by phil_howcroft

Manchester Juxtaposition

I went on a day trip to Manchester on Thursday.

It's over 40 years since I was a student in the city and I haven;t really been back to the city since I was that fresh faced student !

The city has changed dramatically in that time including the introduction of several modern buildings

This is the relatively new building, Barbirolli Square, contrasted against Chepstow House, the red brick building of Old Manchester, built when cotton was king.

I think it works as Juxtaposition

Great contrast between the two buildings. I went to Manchester for a day years ago. I remember visiting the two cathedrals - Catholic and Church of England.

I hear tell it has changed a lot! I lived there working about 35 years ago for a year. Nice juxtaposition.

Simply love the red building - we don’t see architecture like that in N.Z. Great shot
