Ruby at the Skatepark (Vintage Olympus Zuiko 50mm f1.8 lens)
Time for another picture of my best friend Ruby
I shot this with a vintage Olympus Zuiko 50mm f1.8 lens. This wasn't a charity shop lens it was mine, from a Olympus OM20 SLR camera that I bought back in the early 80's
The lens is in mint condition and I decided to give it a run out on Monday afternoon as Ruby and myself went street and park walking in and around Arnold.
We walked to Daybrook so I could photograph the old "Home Ales" building. We walked to "Pets at Home" to price up Dog Food, I saw one of my strangers on the way , Ben, the young man with tattoos on his face, so I had a chat with him.
We walked by the Day Brook on Thackerays Lane Park , took a shot cut to the Duck Park and then made our way to King George's Park where I did a little photoshoot of Ruby in the low sunlight.
As you can see Ruby has her winter coat on (not zipped up proper;y said my wife when she saw the pics). It's quite a trendy purple pink leopard print that zips from tail to neck along the back ! We were watching X-Factor Celebrity at the weekend and a member of the all female band V5 had a hat in the same pattern and colour as Ruby . You see our dog is a fashion conscious dog !
Anyway f5.6 , aperture priority and the old lens has done a great job , i think the colours rendered are rather lovely.
Ruby looks always ready to pose for you. This time she maybe thinking that she is taking part in a fashion show. I like her coat. A great portrait capture here, too.
