Ruby at Arnot Hill Park (MIR-1 Vintage Lens)

Ruby and I went to on a walk this afternoon to test the latest addition to my vintage lens collection. A Russian 37mm , MIR-1, prime lens.

It was a grey December afternoon, not ideal conditions for testing a lens.

While in Arnot Hill Park, I saw a beautifully decorated park bench and thought it might make a nice prop for a few whippet photos. The bench is dedicated to a young person who died in 2010 age 14. I would like to think the family who decorated the bench would smile and be happy to see it being used for a photo shoot for a pretty whippet.

Ruby is wearing her Christmas Scarf. Perhaps there is a bit of a fashion faux pas with a clash between her purple leopard print coat and her scarf, but judging by comments and "stop requests", it seemed quite popular to the people of Arnold !

The lens has done a good job. At f4 Ruby's eyes are sharp and have catchlights and there is a nice smooth bokeh background.

Edited in GIMP.
‘When I am a little whippet, I shall wear purple with a red scarf.....’

A very nice and well-focused portrait of Ruby. There is a bit of a clash between the two colours but who cares as long as Ruby is cosy.
