Smile (Pentacon auto 1.8/50 multi coated vintage lens)
I have no street strangers to shoot , so my portraits photos have become me and my dog Ruby.
This is me testing a lens I've had for some time (actually I have 3 of them) a Pentacon auto 1.8/50 multi coated. My three lenses cost me £7-50, £5-00 and one was free from a friend !
The lens is from East Germany in an M42 mount and rather unusually has a close up focus distance of 33 cm.
It is all metal in design and the aperture is from f1.8 to f16
II got my wife to take this shot, its in our garden , the "vignette like bushes" behind me are a golden yellow Euonymus bushes, which make quite a nice all year round splash of colour to the borders.
This was shot at f5.6 and is pin sharp and has an almost 3D pop. It's quite a performer in the right hands and right conditions, quite a bargain !
Oh, I always look better in black and white ! My hair needs cutting, which is going to be a bit of a problem. I might try a DIY job !
Superb capture. Fav. A very nice complement to your wife with you words 'It's quite a performer in the right hands'. She should join you and us on 365. Btw I liked Lee's capture of the Bolton Wanderers Stadium. Each time I hear or read the name I am reminded of you.
BTW, Thanks for your support Yesterday.
