Meet the Street : VE Day Social Distancing Street Party : Jenny and Peter

We had a Social Distancing Street Party on Friday to celebrate VE Day. Everybody sat at the end of their drive and had drinks and nibbles. I took the event as an opportunity to do some social distancing street photography and photographed every family taking part.

This is Jenny and Peter a retired couple who used to run the Chinese takeaway in Arnold town centre. Jenny is a keen gardener and loves to go shopping for bargains in the local supermarket (pre' lockdown of course)

I love the concept of the social distancing street party ! After 8 weeks of confinement I’ll be happy tomorrow : our lockdown will be less strict and school/restaurant/shops will re open ! 🎉🎊

V for Victory, of course. In the US, if you put your hand behind someone’s head while they are being photographed, you are making bunny ears and it is to play a prank on them. Since Peter had his arm far over to the side, it is clear he is not playing a trick! Happy couple!

I knew beforehand that you would grab the opportunity to take portrait shots; the only thing I didn't know that the locals were throwing a street party for the occasion. Glad you enjoyed taking pictures of all your neighbours who took part. This is a lovely shot of this couple who seem to be very relaxed.
