I found a unopened black and white film in a bundle of vintage lenses I bought back in 2019.
The film expired in August 2008 , yes 2008.
The consensus among my camera club friends was that black and white film will be OK after all that time, so I put in in my Olympus OM20 film camera and shot all 36 exposures. It took me several weeks to shoot the 36 exposures.
It is ISO 400, but my camera club advisors suggested decreasing the sensitivity of the camera ISO setting, so I shot at ISO 320.
It is now ready to send off to a film processing company.
Exciting isn't it ?
Oh and this was shot on my compact Sony RX100 VII , good isn't it?
it will be fun to see how it reacted. lots of people shoot with expired film so I'll bet you did ok! my first foray into film is tomorrow! the camera I had looked at was too far gone for repair. I bought a Nikon N90 from an acquaintance and have a meetup with a knowledgeable film photographer for some pointers. he develops and scans his own images and offered me the developing tank he has extra to try it but not sure if I want to go into all of that especially the scanner but time will tell. yes your little Sony is paying itself off!
Film gets addictive. Get your negatives scanned at the developers if you do not have a scanner. Developing at home is really rewarding and very simple. I am using film from 1989. it is in terrible condition but is cool to get images from it. I don't mind wasting it.
