Oooh, that's soooo cool! I love rusty things, especially when teamed with blue. How old is the weather vane, Phil? It's rather splendid.
The focus you've achieved with that lens is really sharp, very impressive.
@dulciknit Alison , the lens is really fast , so I was able to select a small aperture . The weather vane is maybe 16 years old, it used to be at the top of the garden and open to some harsh winds and bad weather (we are on a hill and the wind whips up the Trent Valley). It's now nearer the house, I think it's had one coat of paint in all those years. I love the rust but my wife doesn't like it !!!
@phil_howcroft Erm, I'm confused: you mentioned a small aperture but the exif data show f/1.0 Does the correct aperture not register because owing to using a vintage lens on a digital camera?
@dulciknit Alison , when you attach a vintage lens with an adapter we don't have any electronic connections , it is all manual , you loose the exif data referencing lens data , so no aperture info , one has to remember the settings , I know I closed the aperture down
The focus you've achieved with that lens is really sharp, very impressive.
@happypat good shout Pat !!! lol
@carole_sandford thanks Carole
@busylady you can't but the rusty look Judith , I love it
@casablanca nice isn't it :)
@boxplayer I love the lens , a stellar vintage lens, quite collectable and rare
@gavj thanks Gavin , it is rather fabulous
@marlboromaam Mags, I thought the rust might appeal to you
