100 Strangers : Round 4 : No. 310 : Kashmir, Opal and Puddles

I was in Nottingham Arboretum this afternoon walking my little whippet Ruby. The blossom in the park was beautiful and I saw two ladies with a dog each walking towards me on a carpet of fallen blossom. As they approached me I decided I might be able to get a stranger photo, so as we got closer, I struck up a conversation about the dogs they were with.

“Hi, good afternoon, your dogs look lovely is one a Pug?”

“This one is a Pugshire a cross between a Pug and Yorkshire Terrier”

“This one is a Jack Chi a cross between the Jack Russell Terrier and Chihuahua”

“They both look amazing” I replied

We then had a chat about Ruby, both ladies said she looked like a lady and had an aura about her. I said I thought Ruby was very elegant and we all agreed ‘elegant’ was a good description.

“She walks very elegantly too, although she is getting on a bit now”

The pugshire then sniffed Ruby’s bottom and Ruby sniffed hers in return.

“That’s what they do, to get to know each other “ said Kashmir. We all laughed

We then did a name check on the dogs, Opal was the Pugshire and Puddles the Jack Chi. The dogs were all recue dogs, albeit Opal and Puddles were rescued from a person rather than an animal rescue centre .

“Oh we have two jewels” said Kashmir, which I thought was a good shout.

I then asked about doing a photoshoot for my strangers project.

“Of the dogs?” asked Kahmir

“Well it would be nice if you were in the shot too”

So Kashmir, gathered the two dogs together and struck up a pose with them.

It was difficult to get all 3 looking at the camera and this was my best effort, which I think turned out OK.

I gave Kashmir a contact card and Kashmir told me it was lovely to meet me and Ruby, I said it was lovely to meet her and her dogs

Dogs are a good way to make new “friends”, it’s incredible the number of persons who ask me questions about my chihuahua when we are walking … everybody should have a dog ;)

Love her and her pups! Believe it or not her sort of "doppleganger" lives next door to me! They sound so similar! Although Nancy's a blonde their looks are somewhat similar too!
