I like your idea and color scheme here but for me it's out of focus and that detracts from the subject. If it were me, I'd get the top die in the sharpest focus possible on all sides. I might also experiment with a square crop giving it as much negative space as possible- that might keep it in the rectangular format but I'd play with the square and see what happens first. Good start!
@olivetreeann Thank you Ann. Yes, it’s slightly out of focus. The die is so tiny, 1/2cm and I couldn’t get the lens to focus on it automatically at all, so manually tried whilst holding the camera and swaying like a drunkard (need tonise the mini tripod). I also will try your ideas.
A cool looking subject mate. I like your POV and the reflection looks great. It is soft and I get your swaying like a drunk while trying to get sharp focus. For me a tripod is a must mate. And either a cable release or use your cameras timer. And switch to live view. All these actions will help minimise any camera shake 😊
@paul10 Sorted now. As per most things, “let’s replace the cheapest component and give it him back” Oh it’s broken again, “let’s replace the next component ......”
Basically meant I put around 1000 miles on their courtesy car, including during the cold spell, whilst mine sat in their workshop.

Thank you both again.
