Dunas Maspalomas by phil_sandford

Dunas Maspalomas

For those that don't know, the island of Gran Canaria is split when it come to its climate. The south, where we were, is sub-Saharan; the North is sub-tropical.

The South gets on average 7-11 days rainfall a year, the North 30-55.

The majority of the population lives in the North and commutes daily to the South where the toursit resorts are.

Ths is a shot from the top of the hotel overlooking the Maspalomas Sand Dunes and looking into Playa de Ingles resort. As you can see from the photo, where we were in the South, is certainly Saharan

Thanks for dropping by
how fascinating :)
