Currently doing my hour for the British Bird Watch and this chap is scaring the birds away.
I've been told by @carole_sandford that I'm not allowed to trap and kill him. I gather from the RSPCA Website that I'm not allowed to trap and 'relocate' him. It was suggested to me by my sister, @30pics4jackiesdiamond, that I add Chilli Powder to the nuts as "squirrels hate it but birds do not" - well I've got news for you Jak, Ethan loves Chilli Powder, HOT chilli powder at that.
I guess the only thing I can do is let him take his fill of the nuts when he can; and when I catch him, run out into the garden and scare him away
@ziggy77 We have 2 of them. Sometimes see them both at same time; more often than not, just the one. The damage they do to the feeders is what annoys me more than anything else.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Saw loads - Robins x 3, Blue, Great & Long Tailed Tits, Blackbirds x 8, Thrush, Dunnocks, Sparrows, Pheasant. No sign of the woodpecker that graced our garden last 3 years of doing it.
@cottiac LOL. We had two of those, now only have one. Ethan stole, yes he stole, the other. Knocked it out of the sheath, and then dragged it out of the garden. Never saw it again.
Enjoyed your commentary - and the shot! They are entertaining - the raccoon was our problem in stealing feeders - he'd "relocate" them - either on top of the shed roof or under the building.
