Rather lovely weekend away with @carole_sandford - overnight stay in a country hotel so we could take in the Loughborough fair (which was not that great so we went into Leicester for dinner and a movie).
This morning, after a rather fabulous full English Breakfast and then Remembrance Parade, we went to Bradgate Park.
It’s the rut. We could hear stags lowing in the reserve, and the bull stag lowing the loudest, and now and then see them. The bull stag that I captured for last year’s album, actually stalked past us in the bracken, but neither Carole or I could get a shot of him, we had to make do with some younger stags who came down to the river to drink and then had a little go at each other to prove their manliness.
Back home now, leg of lamb in the oven and reviewing the photographs on the computer.
Sounds quite the idyllic weekend. And a great photo to remember it by. Wonderful detail. Your deer seem to have somewhat longer coats than the ones I 've seen around here. As to your evenings dining. I have expected to hear venison. Not leg of lamb.
