Goldfinch Pair

The Goldfinches in particular love the sunflower hearts I put out;

Looking at the speed by which the food I put out goes, I'd say that the local bird population like it in this order, 1/ sunflower hearts, 2/ black sunflower seeds, 3/ peanut slabs, 4/ fatballs, 5/ mixed seed and 6/ niger seeds.

And of course, the resident Sparrowhawk, likes the birds that visit to eat the feed

They are lovely birds. You offer up quite a buffet, no wonder all of the birds love your dining room, lol!

And you must never add up how much you actually spend on bird food! Does it come under house keeping?? Mine go for those little suet pellets mixed in the seed, fat cylinders and niger seed are on the menu favourites here :-)

@louannwarren Until Instarted putting out the sunflower hearts, we didn’t see any finches. The long tailed tit only came when I changed the manufacturer of the fat balls. 🙂
