Another from our trip out to Rutland on Saturday with Carole; this is Whissendine Windmill (Carole’s family hail from this village). We were invited in by the owner and spent more than an hour with him chatting about the old days and the old ways. This picture is taken from outside, on the ledge, half way up the mill as the sails were turning.
I left with 1.5kg of whole flour and will make a loaf or two this coming weekend (if I get home with the forecasted weather)
