Magnolia Blossom by phil_sandford

Magnolia Blossom

Our Magnolia came out in full blossom late last week, as the early onset of Summer fleetingly visited the UK (Thursday & Friday). Unfortunately, Saturday evening and Sunday saw winds, which dumped most of the petals on the newly mown lawn (Carole posted a photo of this to her album)

I’ve long felt it a shame that the blossom on all trees doesn’t last longer.

Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offering. Much appreciated.
Lovely focus and beautiful vivid colours

Beautiful Magnolia. My sis has a white one and the same happens every year with the winds. Least you got a good photo while it lasted.

Someone once told me that Magnolia are called "Tree of Tears". Perhaps it is because of the mixed weather at this time of year.

This is a deep pink variety! And I can see its a bit different from our magnolia which is white and has absolutely tons of stamens that fall out!

A beautiful capture. Our pear tree blossoms are short lived too, it seems such a shame!
