Steep Hill, Lincoln by phil_sandford

Steep Hill, Lincoln

The myth that Lincolnshire is flat is exposed when you want to get up to the Bailgate. The ancient glacial ridge, that runs the length of Lincolnshire, curves around the City and you can’t escape it.

This shot is at the begining of the hill; it gets steeper around 2/3 of the way up. Carole and I had parked in the County Hall car park and had to walk up this beast to get to the Christmas market.

Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offering. Much appreciated.
There's a myth that Lincoln is flat 😮 I've been up that hill a number of times. It doesn't half give your legs a workout. Nice night time shot mate 👍

@paul10 We learnt very quickly, when organising pub crawls to start uphill and make our way downhill. Whenever we started downhill, we got as far as The Walkabout and said “Naw, let’s not bother.”

A beautiful night time scene. I’m sure the trek up was worth it, to see the Christmas Market!
