This year's 'first footer' to our garden, if you ignore the few Passerine birds that were at the feeder when I came downstairs this morning, only for this beauty to swoop in for its own breakfast (lucky for the smaller birds, they made a safe escape)
We've actually had the Sparrowhawk visiting most days of late, it's always proved impossible to photograph. It landed on top of the feeder and as I came back to the kitchen with my camera, it flew off and thankfully settled on the garden fence, looking in to the garden and posed for a few minutes.
Thanks for your continued follows, views, comments and favs.
Nice catch Phil. We've also had one visiting. The other day it actually climbed into the prickly bush that the sparrows hide in. It only left because my wife clapped her hands to scare it away!
Wow, he’s amazing! You’ve got wonderful detail here! I had a very similar post yesterday! The songbird made an escape but when I looked at my shot, I could see feather in its claw. I ended my year with a very narrow escape and you started with a wonderful visitor!
