Dahlia Soaking by phil_sandford

Dahlia Soaking

Oh has it rained today. Biblical is one description I’d give it. I think we are getting the tail end of the recent hurricane that decimated the West Indie islands earlier in the month.

Very quickly popped into the garden and shot this of a very sorry looking dahlia in the back garden.

Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offering. Much appreciated.
Wonderful capture!!

It’s sweet anyway! This time last year we had recorded 19” of rain for the month of September. This September, not a drop.

Poor soggy dahlia! Don't look now but the next one is about to land, dear old Lorenzo! This season has matched the record of '92 so far for the most storms in the Atlantic simultaneously. My son was trying to sail a yacht across the Bay of Biscay!!! Hasn't managed it yet and I think it could be a while......sensible chaps all flew home and will go back and try it again when the season ends.

@casablanca Brave lad. It's certainly been a mixed Summer hasn't it, glorious heat spells and equally torrential rain spells. At least the heat spells haven't caused any further significant damage to my lawn
