My plan today was to get to Stourhead in time for breakfast and Then a stroll around the lake. The weather put paid to that, it may not have been given a name, but it was a storm to rival Ciara and Dennis of the previous two weekends.
My fallback option was Dyrham Park, just outside Bath and a lot closer to where I stay during the week; I got there to find out that that was also closed and wasn’t opening until 1:30 in the afternoon due to the same weather conditions that had put paid to Stourhead being an option.
So it was on to option three, Lacock Abbey, another National Trust property close to where I have lived and worked away from home since February 2005. Many of you will know Lacock Abbey, it is frequently used in many many films most notably Harry Potter. From there I drove up to Devizes and the locks at Caen Hill.
Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offering. Much appreciated.
Wonderful PoV,
