First visit to Lincoln City centre in over 3 months this afternoon.
I’ve had a dull toothache for a few days, the last couple of days it’s developed into a very very tender swelling above my front tooth and this afternoon it increased to an ache in my entire jawline. My dentist, like all dentists, is closed, but with the paracetamol hardly taking the edge off the pain, I had no choice but to call them and I was pleasantly surprised when it was answered. I then, 5 minutes later, had a call back from the emergency dentist and 5 minutes after that Carole and I were in the car heading into Lincoln to pick up a prescription of antibiotics from the pharmacy next to the surgery.
Fingers crossed the drugs work.
Anyway, Carole and I then took a short stroll around the city centre - not quite deserted, but not too far off it.

Our dentists are open if they have implemented rules, including air purifiers in every room, face masks, shields, and PPE on the workers, sanitize room between patients. Also could not use ultrasonic cleaning because it sprays too much. Patients had to wear masks except while being worked on. It seemed pretty safe.
Our dentists opened last week - I cancelled a routine cleaning, but if it was a problem like you're dealing with, I think I'd feel comfortable with all the precautions they're having to take.
Our dentists are open again now and last week I had to have a filling replaced that came loose just at the start of lockdown.
