Another hard frost this morning, clear blue skies on waking up. That was until the skies darkened and the forecast bank holiday weekend weather began to roll in. The tree was still lit by the sunshine, but with black foreboding clouds coming in from the North. It’s a couple of hours after I took this, and it is now bucketing down. Bank Holiday weekend in the UK, you can’t beat it.
This is the last of the 30 shots of the same subject; hope I haven’t bored you too much, it’s been very enjoyable and an interesting exercise in looking for a different shot ..... which I guess was the point of it.
Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offering. Much appreciated.
This is wonderful with that dark sky behind. You've done brilliantly, Phil. Every photo is different and every one's a winner. One of my favourites, although I like them all, is the one with the sparrowhawk. It's very apt that the bird is out of focus because that means the magnolia is still the star of the show. Maybe that wasn't intentional but it really works. Well done!
@susiemc Thank you. I took a few of the Sparrowhawk, playing with the focus and decided, as the subject was the tree, to have that bloom as the focal point and not the bird.
Perfect shot for your month of battling frost. I think you captured this moody dramatic sky perfectly and the tree for all it’s struggles looks bright against that sky.
Your month calendar looks good Phil,
