We had roses many years ago, in the front bed and in the bed where the Dahlias and Peonys have been for the last 10 years; they died. We thought we’d try again and bought 6, 2 yellow, 2 red and 2 pink. The plan was to put them in the Dahlia bed as I thought they’d all rotted over the wet winter only to find when I went to plant them that there were 3 or 4 Dahlias sprouting. I left them in their pots for around 3 weeks and then planted them out, some in the Dahlia bed, a couple elsewhere. This is the 1st one to flower - I think I’m right in saying Carole’s favourite rose is a yellow one.
