I recently took a day photo of the view from Cliff Road with my iPhone. I wanted to try some night photography using our D-SLR at the same spot.
Some room for improvement - will keep working at it! :)
@pickerandagrinner Thanks Louis so much for your comment. I've spent a few nights at this exact same spot trying to get a good shot. I noticed with my initial shots - the distant lights still looked a bit blurry - really frustrating! I've been playing around with the various combinations of length of exposure, aperture etc. and am using a remote shutter release. It would help to be using our larger tripod but not enough room on the stairwell I'm taking the shots from? About the only thing I haven't tried yet is the white balance adjustment - must try this! I'm still not satisfied with the "crispness" of my images. Not sure if I'm expecting too much of my camera? It's such good fun though - I'm trying to find all the great photography spots around our area. Your comments are most welcome at any time. I am open to any suggestions! :)
