@linnypinny Thank you. I used to have snowdrops under a hedge in my garden and love how they signify hope....but the bulbs all got eaten !

All these early spring flowers are so shy..no dobt to protect themselves from the worst weather - but lovely to see a couple of sideways blooms showing the additional prettiness inside.

@speedwell I noticed the green markings on the petals after I'd taken the photo and wondered how I'd never noticed them before! The lovely bright yellow is all but hidden as you say probably for protection.
