Some more wildlife to share with you. This photo taken with the phone zoomed in from the verandah - down at the coast!
He then proceeded to give up on sun baking and traversed the yard for a good drink from the bird bath! No wonder the birds don't use it.
I understand that Australia is full of snakes, after reading the story of the 16 foot python on the roof of a house. I would be having panic attacks all the time.
He's in lovely condition. They say, whether it's true or not, the the red-bellied blacks kill the baby browns - so I always have a soft spot for the lazy, lovely blacks...
@randystreat Kathy, we do have loads of snakes and quite a few are deadly, but to be honest, you've got to be really lucky to see one! @2022julieg thanks Julie, he's only young:) @robz Rob you could be right, you tend to only get one or the other don't you? I probably wouldn't be so relaxed about it if I had a dog in the yard, or kids!
@pusspup When we had Zoe ( she never had a go at them if they just sat and looked , but as soon as they turned to flee she pounced, we never could break her of the overpowering instinct.) we used the snake thumpers - I think they made a difference to the back yard . We spread 4 around the yard and didn't have any more within the fence. Although, we also installed accessible water points for them outside the fences - so who knows what made the difference. :)
