A lovely day on Ray's birthday: blue sky, white wispy clouds, bit of breeze and sunshine. We took Jinks over the fields, got just a few blackberries for blackberry and apple pie. I don't think these flowers will come to fruition.
In the evening we went to a cello recital by Julian Lloyd Webber, lovely pieces, including some by John Ireland, a composer new to me. I'm always grateful for something to follow up.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
@gerry Gerry, thank you very kindly, especially for the fav. I also noticed that the colour of the blackberry flowers is pretty much the same as the colour of the blackberry ice -cream I posted yesterday - well done, the makers!
@quietpurplehaze your welcome Hazel oh well Its that time off day Hazel on Wednesdays I start work at 09:30 and finish at 6pm so hope to catch up on 365 this evening have a lovely day : - )
@quietpurplehaze Gerry, you probably won't pick this up until after work so hope your day went well. I have loads to do today, not paid work but mostly chosen by me so I count myself lucky!
Sounds like you have had a wonderful day. Nice capture of lighting striking the cob web and delicate flowers. I bet the pie was good! Happy Birthday Ray.
Super shot! Love the light on it, so delicate. You dont usually concentrate of the flowers - just the fruit to come - and I didnt really apprciate how pretty they are. My daughter used to play the cello and we once saw Julian LW play and she proudly took home with her one of his frayed and discarded cello strings as a souvenir!
@tishpics Patricia, thank you. These were such insignificant little flowers (and mostly they seem to be white) so I was surprised what a nice shot they made. Hey, a discarded cello string from JLW! It was a terrific concert last evening. (Neil has a drumstick from a concert of one of his favourite bands - he went to US especially for a one nighter!)
@doblaine@creativeamateur@tishpics@judithg@purdey@pyrrhula Thanks everyone for your nice comments on the light/sun in the pic. I had to concentrate on taking the shot without getting the sun full on the camera so I'm glad it worked out.
@pyrrhula Well this is quite uncanny as Ipswich was our home town, Ray was born there and I was born in a little village, Claydon, about 3 miles away. We lived in Ipswich until 1974 when we moved here to Hampshire because of Ray's work. We still have a couple of relatives in Suffolk although my immediate family are all dead.
@quietpurplehaze I`ve doing coast sailing on Great Britain for more then ten years. I don`t remember all the places I`ve been. I often say , if there is water a boat can sail on I`ve been there
Love the capture of light in this wonderful pic
