A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
@chris17@gemtumble Thanks very much - I'm sure he thought my camera was food as people do feed the ducks a lot in this stretch of river through the park. Pre-365 I guess I'd probably have got up before he got this close!!!
He's definitely a she which may explain everything. Anyway it's a nice photo. Count yourself lucky - in Victoria BC harbour seals have been known to snatch mobile phones and compact cameras from over zealous photographers in the mistaken belief that they are food offerings! Sadly they don't give them back - the just spit them out.
I am glad you are not hurt. He is quite the looker even in a close up! Fav! And I'm showing kindergarten tomorrow. We've been singing (and acting out) Five Little Ducks all week!
@glenmoor What's the clue for knowing he's a she? Bill/beak? And how does that explain everything?! I was just disappointed not to get the end of its beak in the pic but it was probably already zooming in on my finger. Mostly I was glad not to fall in the puddle!
@vickisfotos Vicki, many thanks for your comment and for the follow, and also, of course, and especially, the fav which makes 6, the most I've ever had on a shot. It was worth getting my finger nipped!!!
@gemtumble Gemma, you are so kind to tell me and thank you as I have been out for the day and missed it - never mind we had a lovely brunch by the seaside in the sunshine. Thanks for all your continuing support.

thanks everyone so much for all the favs - 7 in total and Gemma let me know that the pic made the PP - just for a short while - I was out so missed it but am more than chuffed.
