@tishpics Patricia, thank you. I know that Clare thinks this is a great community but I suppose it's a question of time as she has a full time job at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, plus her jewellery-making plus a full social life plus her cats! (I've probably left something out...)
She always likes refs to Bertie which I send her.
Lang zal ze laven! And oh.. Hazel, I forgot you loved Vivaldi. I had a fourth grader come and play the spots off a Vivaldi piece for her class (on violin!) She was so good, I asked her to come back and play for the kindergarteners, who had just studied Vivaldi. (He's on the "V" page for them!) Fun stuff!
@nana2r I wish somebody had introduced me to Vivaldi when I was in kindergarten/nursery! I've just discovered Boccherini, in particular guitar quintets like 'Fandango' and 'La Ritirata di Madrid'. Sorry being a bit dense, didn't understand '(He's on the "V" page for them!)'
@quietpurplehaze Hey Hazel, thank you for the recommendation I will check him out! And I did not explain well. I tie my activities in the fall to their classroom teachers' presentation of the alphabet. We have a computerized page for every letter of the Alphabet with songs and activities. Each page also has the names of students whose name begins with that letter. We have an especially good time when we get to V because we get to study by violin viola and Vivaldi! They are surprisingly receptive to classical music as long as I give them lots of movement to go with it.
@nana2r V for violin, viola and Vivaldi sounds excellent! Thanks for the explanation! I was looking for a V in your recent photos but. of course Vivaldi wouldn't be there! Those guitar quintets by Boccherini are Spanish sounding and full of colour and although he was Italian, he was living in Spain when he wrote them.
@rosiekind@purplehaze12 Thanks for stopping by and, on Clare's behalf, for your good wishes. ( I did check this collage out with her before I posted it!)

P.s she looks so much like you!
