Darren, thank you. This was at the Arundel Wetlands Centre and there were one or two families of ducklings plus this lone duckling and one other in the reeds on its own. I have the same trouble finding lambs as you do finding ducks!!
Just amazing! My photographer friend says you have to make your own luck, but I do think some of it is being in the right place at the right time. Good for you!!
Oh, glad I'm not the only one with limited map reading skills. Ray is a very tolerant man but I remember a trip to Denmark when he was driving and I was navigating and he suddenly stopped the car and said 'You drive and I'll navigate and we might get somewhere!'

I didn't see him find his family.
And there was another duckling paddling around in the reed bed looking even more alone.
