This brings back memories because it grew in vast quantities near the farm where I grew up in Connecticut. You certainly showed us their beautiful color.

These are not so prolific - just one or two clumps near water in the gardens.
Skip, I've only ever seen this here and only in formal gardens near water - perhaps there is more info in the link I gave?
