pink bergenia.... by quietpurplehaze

pink bergenia....

... in remembrance of my mother who died 29 years ago on January 5th.

She and my dad had come to spend New Year with us in our new house She had a brain haemorrhage and died in Winchester Hospital.

This bergenia is planted by our little stream and was a cutting from my parents' garden. It usually flowers in the spring.

That must have been a rerrible shock Hazel, no wonder you were traumatised. A haemorrhage is always a very sudden way to die so you woukd be completely un prepared.....no wonder it affected you.....so glad you are ok now & hats off to Ray for being there. Your mum has sent you an early message to tell you how well you are doing!

That continuity of planting is lovely. We did it with family rhubarb. What a shocking time you must have had though - so sudden.

Lovely shot, Hazel and it's very special since it's from your mother's home. I, too, believe in the power of dogs (which I think comes down to the power of love). Thank you for sharing.

Isn't this community uplifting. Look at the kindness and support shared just from your two photos and sharing your pain. Well done for stepping out there and allowing us to be there for you, just as you have been for me. 😍
