i = in the green

A family near Warnford open their estate on Sundays in February when the snowdrops are in bloom. The white carpet extends over open ground, through the churchyard and the wood. The little 'Church of Our Lady Warnford' (founded in the 7th century) is open with the organ being played, plus tea and cakes. We passed the lake, the surface of the water coldly brilliant in the winter sun, and a family of two swans plus an apparently 'only-child' cygnet.

There were snowdrops 'in the green' for sale. We know this is the best way to plant them but we bought none as we've grown frustrated planting them in our garden only to find that the following year they are nowhere to be seen. But I have lots of lovely photos!
What a beautiful capture Hazel!! I love snowdrops and like you have never been successful in growing them. I must see if I can find somewhere with a display.

Beautiful shot, snowdrops are so delicate looking but must have to be quite hardy too.

@quietpurplehaze Just checked a local place Coton Manor where they have a great display but they don't open until the 27th February. We are probably a week or two behind you here in the Midlands.

Lovely capture. I always think that snowdrops are quite difficult to photograph because of their delicate petals and colour. You've done a lovely job here.
