I'm posting this shot today for tomorrow which may even be yesterday where you live in the world. The reason for my early post is that Ray and I are having a few days away.
All my photographic paraphernalia is coming with me and I'm planning still to post shots but I may be a bit sparse on commenting for a bit.
btw this peony is usually called Molly the Witch because most people, including me, have trouble with the pronunciation of its name. It's plant of the week in the gardens at Hinton Ampner.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Frank, thank you. I have to admit to a tiny bit of processing on this but yes, a fabulous camera and most of my shots are SOOC. I'm very glad I chose the a6000. This was taken with the 16-50mm zoom; my fav lens is the 1.8 50mm portrait lens which I use for all sorts of shots!
A beautiful shot of this lovely flower and nice insect, The Dutch name = Pioenroos . Have a pink one just planted
The peony is named after Paeon (also spelled Paean), a student of Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine and healing. Asclepius became jealous of his pupil; Zeus saved Paeon from the wrath of Asclepius by turning him into the peony flower
Enjoy you days off. Have a great time.

The strangest thing - I'd also never seen this before and a friend posted me a shot of one in her garden a couple of days after I took this.
Thanks for both!
