the table laid

Mostly plastic of course but still appears a sumptuous feast.
That's a great study of still life ... sorry to hear it's plastic. what's the occasion/ place?

At Osborne House, Isle of Wight, summer residence of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, now owned and kept for posterity by English Heritage.

Wow, that does look fancy. From the picture you wouldn't know it was mostly plastic :)

How delightful! I still think pineapples are very exotic ... must have been born 200 years late.

@pcoulson

The main difficulty was getting a shot without people in it. One chap stood for ages at the far end reading an info sign and I was getting impatient when suddenly he moved off and I realised it was Ray!

It is very impressive. And I like your story about the ' man' at the end of the table:)

Lovely scene! Are the display cases in back examples of meal menus?
April 25th, 2016
Wonderful display to see and a great capture. I wouldn't want to wash up all the glassware.
April 26th, 2016

Lovely shot. Okay,.... question????? Why is there a spoon missing every other setting???? and where I live, the forks are on the left and the knives and spoons on the right. Lovey setting.
April 26th, 2016
Beautiful table setting. Even plastic looks quite lovely these days.
April 26th, 2016
plastic? I hope you meant to plants. It all looks so genuine,
great pov
April 26th, 2016
Great shot of the (fake) table . Prefer nothing on it
instead of plastic.
April 26th, 2016
@lindamp5 Linda, each place setting takes up two spaces. There is a napkin in a fancy shape and on the left of it are the forks and on the right are the knives, plus a spoon. Then on the left of all of this is a side plate which has a single knife laid horizontally above it.
